Emily owns and manages Dillsburg Yoga. She completed a yoga teacher training on Vancouver Island in British Columbia many years ago. During this time, she lived and camped on a small herb and vegetable farm, while immersing herself in the study of yoga and natural living. Over time through her own experiences her teaching has naturally grown and evolved. She incorporates elements of yoga posture practice, functional movement, & natural movement in what she is calling "embodied movement".
Emily also has an academic background in science and philosophy; in particular with human physiology and integrative approaches to health. She is a certified biology & environmental educator with teaching experience in local public schools and at a Montessori school. Emily has had a variety of experiences in her life, from living & exploring the magic of the island of Oahu, Hawai'i, working at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History botany department, supporting and experiencing work on a small, sustainable vegetable farms, but she feels most at home teaching embodied movement, spending time with her family, being outside with plants & animals and advocating for a more naturally wild world.
She is motivated by practicing and sharing with others the magic in connecting with the sacred in the everyday including our own bodies and the ways we interact with the world around us. She looks forward to working with you in a fundamentally, holistic way.
